Cavan Mosque is run entirely on the donations of its community. Every donation goes directly to the Society’s bank account and is used solely for the mosque, including the cost of securing it. Trustees serve voluntarily and receive no payment.
قالَ رَسولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: “مَن بَنَى مَسجِدًا لِلَّهِ، بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الجَنَّةِ.” (رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيُّ وَمُسْلِمٌ)

Make your donation go further: tax relief
If you pay tax in Ireland and donate €250 or more in a year, the Society can claim tax relief on your donations from Revenue under the Charitable Donation Scheme. The relief is paid to the Society, not deducted from you, so it costs you nothing extra.
Revenue applies a blended rate of 31%. In practice:
- A donation of €250 becomes about €362 to the Society
- A donation of €500 becomes about €725
- A donation of €1,000 becomes about €1,449
All you need to do is complete one form. It takes a couple of minutes.
Enduring Certificate (CHY3)
The CHY3 form allows the Society to claim tax relief on this and any future donations for a five-year period, with no further paperwork from you. This is the most effective option.
Annual Certificate (CHY4)
If you prefer to give a certificate for one year at a time, complete the CHY4 form instead. Download the CHY4 form.
